Wow, you’re here now, because something is telling you that you want to contribute to StoryBlog!

You can write a story or get interviewed for a feature.

Don’t be shy. We love to hear from you!

For interview features:

Just get in touch via email (see above) and we’ll arrange to meet you at a time and place that is convenient for you. For safety reasons, the meeting locations would always be public places such as cafes or hotel lobbies.

If you live further afield than West Yorkshire or you’d prefer to be interviewed over the telephone or via Skype, that’s absolutely no problem at all.

Your privacy always comes first and we would never publish your name and other details that could identify you without your permission.

For the writers among you:

StoryBlog is open to all kinds of storytelling, as long as it is unique (i.e. has never been published), inoffensive and a great read.

Take a look at the Categories already listed in the drop-down menu on the top right-hand side of this page (or bottom of the page for mobile devices).

Is there a topic you’d like to write about? Do you have a topic to add? Whatever your idea, get in touch. All ideas are welcome!

Once we’ve received your pitch, we’ll take a close look at it and submit feedback (usually within 5 working days).

We only approve completed article submissions if they are engaging, but in some instances, we could tell you how to tweak your story to get it published.

Your story can be about a personal experience, or about someone or something you know a lot about.

We are particularly looking for real-life features, such as personal experiences, interview features and how to blog posts on personal development.

Your stories can be funny, sad, inspirational, or thought-provoking – take your pick.

BUT, they have to be lively and engaging!

Use dialogue (where appropriate) and opening ‘hooks’ to make your story come to life and engage the reader.

We don’t want to fall asleep reading a boring tale ☺

What are YOU getting out of guest posting for StoryBlog?

• The opportunity to add your author bio promoting your blog, social media profiles and/or products at the end of the post. You will be featured as an AUTHOR.

• The chance to get a personal testimonial from me and a copy of the StoryBlog logo for your website

• Promotion on our social media profiles

• A brand new audience for your own blog or website

• Potential traffic from StoryBlog

• Experience writing high-quality stories and blog posts

• A link you can proudly display on your website’s portfolio page

What are the Posting Guidelines?

All guest posts should be no more than 1,500 words. (We may make exceptions, please ask first before submitting)

Titles –List Posts or How To are allowed for blog posts, but please use ‘punchy’ titles for your stories.

Tone – Your Post has to be engaging. Talk to the reader or use dialogue – you will get published if your narrative makes the reader want to know more.

Images – It would be great if you could supply your own images (especially for personal posts). If you source images from the internet, please ensure you use ‘licence-free’ images from sites like Pixabay , Unsplash etc.

Readability – Please ensure that you break your text into small readable chunks. Internet readers tend to ‘skim’ over text and the smaller the paragraphs the more they are actually reading.

Use subheadings – H2 or H3 in blog posts

No Affiliate Links – Sorry, this is a story blog NOT a marketing blog

How Do I Submit An Idea?

Please email me (caren@storyblog.co.uk) with your story ideas.

Once your completed submission is approved, we will give you access to the WordPress backend of StoryBlog.

You will be given a user profile and your own password to log in.

You can paste your post or write your post in the backend of StoryBlog.

If you like to contribute again, simply log in and provide another post for review.

Depending on the number of submissions overall, your story should be published within 1-4 weeks.

What Happens After I Guest Post?

When your story or blog post is published on Storyblog, go ahead and share it with the world and on all of your social media profiles and your website.

This will help you grow your brand, audience and traffic as well as your credibility as a writer.

We will also promote your post on our social media profiles.

Please DO NOT copy your blog post and publish it on your blog or another blog.

You retain all rights to your content, but if you decide to publish it on another website, unfortunately, we will have to take it off StoryBlog.

This is to avoid having duplicate content out there, which will confuse the search engines, i.e. play havoc with our and your SEO and benefit neither of us.

If you enjoyed guest posting on StoryBlog, we would love it if you’d write for us again.

Share your tales, message and inspiration with other story lovers!

Thank you,

Caren ☺
